Microsoft have shown new footage of Gears of War 4 at their E3 conference. At the same time, they have announced that it will be part of a new "Xbox Play Anywhere" program, which will grant ownership of both a Windows 10 copy of the game as well as Xbox One regardless of the version purchased.
The presentation focused on new co-op gameplay footage, depicting a derelict base in the middle of a harsh storm. Characters were shown working together to operate turrets and other gimmicks, and engaging in team tactics to draw fire and flank enemies. The demo also displayed other elements, such as environment hazards like lighting storms.
Gears of War 4 will be released on October 11th, 2016 for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. Microsoft also announced a limited edition Gears of War 4 Xbox Elite Wireless Controller shortly afterwards. In addition, General Raam, a major antagonist from the series, will be added to the roster of Rare's Killer Instinct.
