PS4 fans will have to wait a bit longer to experience mods in the Boston Wasteland, Bethesda has announced. While the beta for PS4 mods were originally meant to begin this month, Bethesda posted this today in Twitter:
We regret to say that the PS4 Mods Beta for Fallout 4 has been delayed. We will update everyone when we can.
Earlier this month, Bethesda also outlined other issues with PS4 mod support, saying that they were having issues letting players use more than 900MB of hard drive space for mods. In comparison, Xbox One players have 2GBs of space dedicated to mods. Also, at this time, PS4 mods cannot use sound files because of the system's proprietary format, and that mods were having performance issues because they were using PC Textures.
While PC received mod support earlier this year, the Xbox One was the first console to received mod support last month. We will keep you updated on any more info about Fallout 4 mods for PS4 as it becomes available.
