Back in January of this year, Square Enix announced MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY was headed westward to give fans and newcomers a Final Fantasy experience on mobile platforms. Today, the company officially announced its release date and players can preregister for goodies.
Originally released in Japan, MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY is, according to its press release, an RPG with "deep character customization, ongoing live events and HD graphics" capable of pushing mobile platforms to its maximization. The story for it is about a man waking up in a world called Palamecia and has no memory of his past, initiating his task of unraveling a prophecy revolving around the legendary warrior of light.
Along with this announcement, preregistration has begun for the game as of today and can be found here. Players who preregister will receive FINAL FANTASY X related items such as Tidus's signature weapon (Brotherhood), a Yuna character card, and more when the game launches. Backed with a development team which includes writer Kazushige Nojima and producer Yoshinori Kitase of FINAL FANTASY VII and FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY is set to hit iPhones, iPads and Android devices on the west August 3rd of this year and is free-to-play (with in-app transactions).
